Papers, 1898-1899.

Extracts from Carl Sacariasen's diary, which covers the period 1898-1899. The diary, which was originally titled Reiseminder in Alaska or Recollections of Alaska, describes his experiences as a cook working with the Scandanavian reindeer herders. Extracts, which deal with Eskimo life, were selected and translated by Virginia Hastings. An introduction to the material by Keith A. Murray is included in the collection.
